Once upon a prosthetic … (Part 2)

If you’re just giving my blog a peek there is a part 1 of this little “mini series” of posts that you may wish to read first. The link will open in a new tab so you don’t lose your place here ūüôā ¬† ¬†Part 1

Fourth grade brought several changes to my world. ¬†We moved from our small town, huge backyard, farm style housing into a suburban apartment (yes I revolted a little). ¬†Along with the move came a new school and the need to make new friends. ¬† ¬†Unbeknownst to me, kids in this age group could in fact be cruel and relentless. ¬†Suddenly school was no longer an atmosphere of everyone being friendly with a slice of curiosity. ¬†I received at least my fair share of the “pick on pie”. ¬†Questions about how it happened turned into ridicules of how weird it looked. ¬†Asking how I did things became statements of how I couldn’t do things. ¬†My sunny disposition was now laced with bits of sadness and a twinge of anger.

Keep this in mind: ¬†I know this is a sad part of my story but fear not all is well with me and this was just a learning experience on my way to growing as a person. ¬†I’m still a cheerful lady with an optimistic attitude. ¬†I really believe that my not so fun life experiences are just as important as the good ones in helping others be the best they can be. ¬†So please stick with the story even though it may not always make you laugh or smile. ¬†And please feel free to comment if this is anything you have had to deal with. ¬†How did you get past it? ¬†Did it change you in small or big ways?

Tension Reliever Quote: ¬†“Showers are great. ¬†They make you feel nice and clean, you sound like a professional singer, and they also help you make all of life’s decisions.” ¬†

Now go sing something in the shower and come back in a few days to read more of the story ūüėÄ
