Once upon a prosthetic … (Part 2)

If you’re just giving my blog a peek there is a part 1 of this little “mini series” of posts that you may wish to read first. The link will open in a new tab so you don’t lose your place here 🙂    Part 1

Fourth grade brought several changes to my world.  We moved from our small town, huge backyard, farm style housing into a suburban apartment (yes I revolted a little).  Along with the move came a new school and the need to make new friends.    Unbeknownst to me, kids in this age group could in fact be cruel and relentless.  Suddenly school was no longer an atmosphere of everyone being friendly with a slice of curiosity.  I received at least my fair share of the “pick on pie”.  Questions about how it happened turned into ridicules of how weird it looked.  Asking how I did things became statements of how I couldn’t do things.  My sunny disposition was now laced with bits of sadness and a twinge of anger.

Keep this in mind:  I know this is a sad part of my story but fear not all is well with me and this was just a learning experience on my way to growing as a person.  I’m still a cheerful lady with an optimistic attitude.  I really believe that my not so fun life experiences are just as important as the good ones in helping others be the best they can be.  So please stick with the story even though it may not always make you laugh or smile.  And please feel free to comment if this is anything you have had to deal with.  How did you get past it?  Did it change you in small or big ways?

Tension Reliever Quote:  “Showers are great.  They make you feel nice and clean, you sound like a professional singer, and they also help you make all of life’s decisions.”

Now go sing something in the shower and come back in a few days to read more of the story 😀
